At Trattoria NerodiSeppia it is often hard to snag a reservation if you don’t plan ahead. Not only is seating extremely limited but it is extraordinarily popular with locals and tourists alike, even if it is a little out of the hustle and bustle of the city center. The restaurant is cute, cozy and unpretentious. The staff is warm and fun. The food is d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!  Seafood is the main fare and Giulio prepares beautiful dishes that are fresh and excite the palate with excellent flavors combinations and textures. There are also a few excellent dishes for meat lovers and vegetarians as well. Meanwhile, his wife Valentina is the Sommelière who curates a lovely stock of local wines and “bollicine” (the term – little bubbles – used to encompass everything from fizzy wines, Proseccos and Champagnes from France, which they also carry) from FVG, Slovenia and Croatia.  Make sure to try the Vitosvska, a regional white wine popular in Trieste and Slovenia.

Non e’ facilissimo trovare un tavolo alla Trattoria NerodiSeppia se uno non prenota in anticipo. Il ristorante e’ minutino e, sopratutto, e’ ricercatissimo da non solo i Triestini ma anche dai turisti, anche se e’ un po’ nascosto. Il ristorante è carino, accogliente e senza pretese. Il personale è cordiale e simpatico e il cibo è delizioso! Diciamo che la loro specialita’ e’ il pesce e lo chef Giulio prepara piatti belli e freschi che intrigano il palato. Per non escludere nessuno, vi sono anche ottimi piatti per gli amanti della carne che per i vegetariani. Valentina, sua moglia, e’ la sommelière che cura una bella collezione di vini locali dal Collio, Slovenia e Croazia e  anche una selezione di “bollicine” e Champagne Francesi. Si consiglia di provare il Vitosvska se non lo conoscete che e’ un vino bianco coltivato sia nei pressi di Trieste che nella Slovenia vicina.
