Established in 1865, this iconic Triestine restaurant has been passed down through 4 generations and is the embodiment of the culture and traditions of this city and its diverse population. Located in the same spot in San Giovanni, where it was originally founded, it became a destination restaurant for those seeking a good meal and the fresh air of the Carso hills. In the 50s it passed to its current owner, Mario Suban who brought the traditional mix of Triestine, Viennese and Eastern European dishes to a higher level garnering it awards both on the national and international stage. To eat a meal at SUBAN is to have eaten the best Trieste has to offer of its authentic cuisine. Among it’s most sought after dishes is the Roasted Pork Shank but the savory Palacinke are also delicious!

Fondata nel 1865 , Suban, ristorante iconico Triestino e’ stato portato avanti da quattro generazioni  ed è l’incarnazione della cultura e delle tradizioni di questa città e la sua popolazione diversificata . Situato da sempre a San Giovanni, era diventato un ristorante di destinazione per quei cittadini che volevano godersi una buona cucina nell’aria fresca delle colline del Carso . Negli anni ’50 passò al suo attuale proprietario, Mario Suban che ha portato la tradizionale cucina triestina, viennese e piatti dell’Europa orientale ad un livello superiore ottenendo riconoscimenti sia a livello nazionale che internazionale . Mangiare un pasto a SUBAN vuole dire aver assaggiato il meglio che Trieste ha da offrire della sua cucina autentica . Tra i suoi piatti più ricercati vi è lo Stinco Arrosto ma anche le Palacinke salate sono deliziose!
