Centrally located in the heart of the shopping district on via San Niccolo’, Zushi is the “go-to” sushi restaurant in Trieste.
Clean, modern, light and fresh, Zushi is very inviting. Attentive staff, excellent quality products and well-maintained premises make coming here a no-brainer. The only drawback for me is their tendency to incorporate cream cheese (“philadelphia”) or mayo in a lot of their rolls, but that is easily solved by requesting they refrain from using it in your order.
The menu offers a wide variety of rolls, sashimi, cooked dishes and some surprisingly delicious desserts. The tempura is light and crispy, the sashimi and sushi is bright and very fresh and there is a very nice lunch menu that is excellent in terms of quantity and value.
It has become my pick for when I’m meeting my girlfriends for lunch as there is something for everyone — even for those with gluten issues and it is a favorite for business lunches among the younger set.
Zushi offers home delivery and they have a very comprehensive online menu from which you can order easily. FYI, they do not list tempura in their delivery option as they are concerned that due to condensation in the packaging it will not arrive crispy, but if you really want it, you can ask for it by phone.
Open Mon-Sat 12–2:30PM, 6:30–11PM and Sunday 6:30–11PM
